"I was actually hunting a different buck", says Chad "I thought my original target buck was bigger, so when this deer showed up on my Reveal cell cam I really didn't change my plans".
After hunting a handful of times, Chad came up empty on the buck he was focused on. As the new animal began to show up with more frequency on the trail cameras, Chad's hunting partners began to question him on which buck he should be going after.
It was a beautiful fall evening and the cooler temps had the deer really moving. The MoonGuide called for great activity just prior to sunset, and Chad was excited as his Mathews Phase 4 hung close by at the ready. "I had about 10 minutes left when he entered the field, then proceeded to clear every other deer out of the plot - he was definitely the dominant buck in the area."
As the beast came to a stop - broadside at 28 yards, Chad sent a RamCat right through his boiler room! "When I got up to him, I was a little shocked to say the least, he was definitely bigger than I thought, good thing I listened to my buddies!"
Chad's deer is a beast, with 19 scorable points and a typical gross score above 180" the 26" of abnormal points take this amazing animal over the top. This animal is truly a buck of a lifetime, but we hope it's not the last one for Chad - Congrats!!!
